Exploring Collaboration Technologies
There are many times when groups or teams must work together on a project, both in school and in the real world. But, how should a group or team work on a project when there isn't much time to meet together? In this WebQuest, you will join a team and explore different technologies that make it possible for groups to work without actually meeting together.

This WebQuest is designed for 5th grade students in conjunction with the computer course curriculum. There
are multiple things for students to take into consideration when collaborating on a project
with others. It is important to know how
to properly and ethically use researched information from the Internet. In addition, students need to be able to
tailor their writing for the appropriate audience. Students should also be able to select an
appropriate application to facilitate collaboration on this and other projects
with others.

- What applications are available to aid in the collaboration and completion of a project or task?
- Based on the purpose and audience, what is the best way to disseminate (publish) the writing to that audience.
- How does the purpose and audience affect the quality and level of writing?
- Where can the best and most reliable sources for research be found?
As a result of this WebQuest, students will understand:
- There are multiple online applications that facilitate small and large group collaboration on projects and/or tasks.
- There are multiple online applications that complement the purpose and style of projects and/or tasks to make the dissemination (publishing) more effective.
- Ultimately, successful communication of a topic or idea to an audience depends on how well the audience understands the level and style of writing.
- The best research comes from multiple sources and research methods.
